On October 15, the annual Rosneft Day took place at the Graduate School of Management of Saint Petersburg University. Representatives of the Russian oil industry leader met with the students and announced the results of the essay competition organized as part of the scholarship program. 

Master's and Bachelor's students of GSOM SPbU and Institute of Earth Sciences of SPbU attended a presentation and guest lecture by the oil company's experts held at Mikhailovskaya Dacha campus. The format of the meeting was arranged as an open interview: everyone had an opportunity to ask questions on field exploration, oil extraction and implementation of projects on marine field development and feedstock processing. Students had a chance to communicate with the experts in an informal atmosphere over a cup of tea. Then essay competition finalists presented their papers.

Three joint teams of students from the Graduate School of Management of SPbU and Institute of Earth Sciences of SPbU won the competition and became members of the company's scholarship program. Authors of the best works will receive 360 000 rubles each from Rosneft.

• 1st place — Alexander Papash, 4th year student at the Institute of Earth Sciences of SPbU and Mikhail Ukhachev, 3rd year student at GSOM SPbU. Essay "Artificial Intelligence Technology Implementation in Geological Exploration Works: Benefit and Risk Analysis".

• 2nd place — Elizaveta Seniushkina, 4th year student at GSOM SPbU and Gleb Karpinchik, 4th year student at the Institute of Earth Sciences of SPbU. Essay "Prospects of the Organization of Underground Storages for CO2 Utilization by Russian Vertically Integrated Oil Companies".

• 3rd place — Sofya Bondarenko, 3rd year student at GSOM SPbU and Klim Gerasimov, 3rd year student at the Institute of Earth Sciences of SPbU. Essay "Development of Hard-to-Recover Oil and Gas Reserves: Drivers and Limitations for Russian Vertically Integrated Oil Companies".

Rosneft is the world's largest public oil and gas corporation and a partner of Saint Petersburg University (SPbU). Rosneft Day has been held at the university every year since 2007.
