As part of the course on pricing strategies by Igor Gladkikh, Associate Professor of GSOM SPbU Marketing Department, a guest lecture was held on the topic of net revenue management for consumer goods manufacturers. The invited speaker was Polina Pavlova, who graduated from the Business School with a Bachelor program in Management in 2015. Now Polina works as a strategy manager at the Accenture International Consulting Company.
"We discussed with the students and Igor Gladkikh the optimization of regular prices and promos. Using the example of three cases of the Russian market, we plunged into the dangers of price wars and the subtleties of calculating equilibrium prices, clarified the importance of synchronizing regular prices between different sales channels (networks/distributors, offline/online, etc.) and the price architecture tools, clarified the promotional planning processes and got acquainted with the concepts of basic sales. Each case was analyzed in detail — from the problem and the framework used to the final result in the form of implemented algorithms. I was very pleased to be in the Mikhailovskaya Dacha campus. Many thanks to professor for the opportunity to share his experience and knowledge. I hope that it was interesting and useful for the students. I wish them a successful completion of the semester!"
