The conference "Corporate Architecture (Guild of Architects)" was held at the Graduate School of Management of St. Petersburg University (GSOM SPbU)
130 specialists in corporate architecture of the GSOM SPbU partner company considered the main points of business growth, the competencies of corporate architects and their role in project activities, the development, structuring and sustainability of the integration architecture. The conference participants discussed all the pros and cons of off-the-shelf solutions and custom development, as well as the necessary and sufficient artifacts in architectural work.
The moderators of the discussion platforms were GSOM SPbU professors Maxim Arzumanyan, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Information Technologies in Management, Academic Director of the joint program GSOM SPbU and SKILLBOX "MBA - Leaders of Change", and Tatyana Gavrilova, Head of the Department of Information Technologies in Management.
“Holding such events helps to demonstrate the capabilities of GSOM SPbU in the external environment, thereby increasing prestige among future students of Executive MBA programs and strengthening partnerships. At the event, company representatives under the strict moderation of GSOM SPbU experts solved complex problems. For example, the problem of restructuring the information and infrastructure architecture of a company today poses the most difficult tasks for system architects in the light of the situation of import substitution. Various points of view on possible solutions were expressed at the round tables, which may not yet exist, but which need to be found.”
Tatyana Gavrilova, Head of the Department of Information Technologies in Management
GSOM SPbU students helped in the preparation of the conference and participated in it as listeners.
“Events such as this conference give an understanding of the diversity of activities and broaden the general outlook, which certainly has a positive effect on students. Knowing the characteristics of various specialties, a manager can be more likely to make effective managerial decisions and demonstrate his competence in case of non-standard work tasks. However, these are all long-term benefits. In the short term, participation in such events as a volunteer gives the student invaluable organizational experience: you can look at the strengths and weaknesses of various approaches in the field of event management and, of course, establish contacts with representatives of completely different specialties.
Bogdanovs Maksims, third-year student of Bachelor in Management.
