The Graduate School of Management of St. Petersburg University has completed a session of trainings on public speaking from The Center of Digital Education Technologies. GSOM SPbU students and applicants have learned the basic principles and secrets of public speaking. The theory was fixed in practice in virtual reality.

For five meetings, the participants learned how properly prepare for a speech, freely stand in front of a large audience and interact with it. At the end of the training, everyone came up with and worked out their performance in the simulator using augmented reality glasses. By presenting the project in front of a virtual audience, it is easier for the presenters to overcome the excitement and learn not to panic if something does not go according to plan.

Augmented reality technologies are becoming part of the educational process at GSOM SPbSU. In public speaking trainings, they supplement the regular exercises that are performed in a group. For example, at the last meeting, the guys “woke up” bored listeners with the help of intonation and direction of voice and gaze.

30 people took part in the trainings, among which were both students and GSOM SPbU applicants. Such open events are a great opportunity to gain useful knowledge and skills, look at the life of the Business School from the inside and make a decision about admission.
