Graduate School of Management of St. Petersburg University (GSOM) transferred to an online format not only the main training programs, but also career and additional educational events. One of the most important roles in this transition was played by GSOM corporate partners. BCG Consulting Company has prepared a series of webinars on leading industries that will help students understand how different sectors of the economy are developing and what difficulties they face.
A series of webinars was launched by Alexander Magnitsky, Senior Consultant in the BCG Moscow office, who spoke in detail about the agricultural sector. This industry is rarely in the top employers, but recently it has become increasingly promising, especially in connection with import substitution and the need to create a highly efficient environment for growing agricultural products in Russia. Under these conditions, one cannot do without digital technologies that can control the optimal amount of light, heat and water for a particular plant. In addition, the agricultural sector is also about the professions of the future, when farmers will be forced to think as innovative entrepreneurs who can not do without specialists in IoT and Big Data.
Anton Aristov, Partner in the Moscow office of BCG, told how oil and gas production works. The main challenges for players in the oil sector over the past few years are the trend towards decarbonization and transition to renewable energy sources (RES), as well as changes in accepted logistic models and preferences of end consumers. To cope with these challenges and take advantage of their capabilities, specialists need to focus on four key points: transforming working methods, operations, managing your asset portfolio, and interacting with ecosystem partners. In any of these aspects, digital technology plays an exceptional role today.
On April 27, Ilya Ivaninsky, Director of BCG’s Moscow office, will conduct a detailed analysis of the consulting in public sector.
BCG is a traditional participant of GSOM Career Center events. Webinars from company representatives are aimed at raising students' awareness of the work in the field of consulting.
