St. Petersburg University (SPbU) has ranked second in the ranking of publication activity among Russian universities in 2023 in the field of "management," according to the analytical center "Expert AC." The majority of research papers were written by faculty members of the Graduate School of Management at St. Petersburg University (GSOM SPbU).
The results of the eighth wave of research on publication activity were presented by the analytical center "Expert AC" during the round table discussion titled "Research Activity of Russian Universities: Results of the 2022 Rankings and Development Perspectives." (additional details available in Russian only)
In the field of "management," the leaders are the Higher School of Economics, St. Petersburg University, and Ural Federal University named after the first President of Russia, B.N. Yeltsin. The ranking of research productivity for 2023 includes over 150 universities from across Russia.
The subject-specific ranking includes universities that have published more than 0.5% of all Russian publications in the respective field during the analyzed period. Starting from 2021, only journal articles and reviews in all subjects are taken into account, except for the field of computer science and artificial intelligence, where conference proceedings continue to be considered.
For eight years, "Expert AC" has been monitoring changes in the higher education system initiated by federal programs. The calculation is based on four semantic blocks: "Scale," "Quality of Growth," "Relevance," and "Excellence."
