The GSOM SPbU Charitable Development Fund is continuing its fundraising campaign to renovate the main entrance of the Mikhailovskaya Dacha campus.
In September 2023, thanks to the support of GSOM SPbU alumni, partners and patrons, the revival of the park began: the historical linden alleys were restored.
A fundraiser has been launched to create a flower garden and a spruce-birch grove!
According to historical drawings, the birch and spruce trees to the right and left of the main entrance were specially preserved by the architect Bosse for Grand Duke Mikhail Nikolaevich after the previous owners. All the trees in this part of the park were lost over time; to restore the main entrance it is necessary to plant 15 firs, 10 birches and recreate a flower garden with a total area of 800 square meters. In the flower garden, drought-resistant plants of constant flowering are used to add splendor.
The total project budget is 7.8 million rubles. This amount includes the cost of all plants, work on planting trees, laying out flower beds and paths.
The suburban campus of the Graduate School of Management of St. Petersburg State University was created on the basis of the estate of Grand Duke Mikhail Nikolaevich Romanov.
Mikhailovskaya Dacha is one of the pearls in the necklace of palace and park ensembles of the Great Peterhof Road, a historical and cultural monument of federal significance. The estate park is a unique creation of European landscape art of the 19th century.
Several architects at once: I.I. Charlemagne, A.I. Stackenschneider, G.A. Bosse, D.I. Grimm, A.I. Ryazanov participated in the creation of Mikhailovka. Combining the work of his colleagues, the architect Bosse built the Mikhailovsky Palace and redeveloped the park with the main idea - to create a unity of buildings and the surrounding nature!
