Academic mobility is one of the main factors for applicants of the Graduate School of Management at St. Petersburg University (GSOM SPbU), attracting them to the Business School. This year 110 Bachelor and Master students went to GSOM partner universities in 24 countries in Europe and Asia for an exchange semester. 58 Bachelor and 52 Master students, of which 13 are CEMS students, 6 are students of double degree programs. Most have started their education in class format format.

Online format at Aalto University, School of Economics, Finland

“During my Bachelor studies at GSOM SPbU, I traveled to Japan for an exchange semester. To expand my horizons and exchange experience during Master studies, I decided to choose Europe. I also wanted to compare the Asian model of education and the European one. Since I work, learning via exchange and online is a good opportunity. Plus, ex-classmates will have a trip to St. Petersburg, where I can get to know them personally. I chose Aalto due to strong rankings, positive reviews and lack of time difference, which is a very important factor for online studies. I look forward to a quality education, new acquaintances, including the culture of Finland, and broadening my horizons. It is interesting to assess the cultural differences / similarities with the European neighboring country”.

“We were very welcomed at Business school. Since August 23, seminars, meetings, events and discussions have been held. The atmosphere is very friendly. Our group consists of both students from different countries and locals. It's great that we are not divided into categories, we are a single CEMS group. The impressions are very positive — the university organizes many events for communication and acquaintances. I have already made friends. The observance of security measures — wearing masks — are strictly treated. The atmosphere in Portugal is very pleasing. Warm weather, beautiful views and friendly atmosphere”.

In-class format, Kyungpook National University, Republic of Korea 

“For many years I have wanted to visit Asia, I have been fond of their culture and modern media for several years. Although this university was not my priority: initially my friend and I wanted to go to Japan, so that it would not be scary, but we could not get there together. As a result, I met a girl from the International Management program, who also chose a university in Kyungpook. The administration at the University met us perfectly, they appointed a buddy who helped us with all the questions. The International Department is very responsive. While we were in mandatory quarantine, many meetings were organized for us in the Zoom, where they talked about the University, the necessary documents, the city, sights. Classes began on September 1. There have already been in-class lecturers, but the format is blended. Some courses will be online for the first month, and then in-class, some from the very beginning only in-class. Everything is very safe: everywhere they measure the temperature, register visits to buildings using a QR code, and in class there is one person at a desk, through a partition".

Most of GSOM SPbU students went to take an exchange semester to European countries: Austria, Germany, France, Ireland, Portugal, Czech Republic, Netherlands and others. The countries of the Asian sector - Korea and Japan - are also a popular destination for students.
