From October 1 to 5, 2024, the Graduate School of Management at St. Petersburg University (SPbU) will host the Economics and Management Conference (EMC). This event serves as a dynamic platform for professionals and leading scholars in management from around the globe. Over the past 11 years, more than 2,500 participants have presented their research at this conference. This year, the event anticipates over 200 researchers and practitioners from Russia, China, the Kingdom of Bahrain, Bangladesh, Algeria, Ireland, Morocco, Belgium, Serbia, and other countries.

Elena Rogova, Director of the Centre for Market Efficiency and Applied Finance Research at GSOM SPbU, remarked: "EMC facilitates a unique dialogue between researchers and practitioners. Participants exchange ideas and empirical findings that advance methodologies and knowledge in management, finance, marketing, operational research, and more. The conference offers an exciting opportunity for idea sharing, networking, and fostering new research collaborations. This year's main theme is sustainability and efficiency during turbulent times—issues that are crucial in today's economic and social landscape."
The EMC program features 16 tracks, including two special tracks organized by colleagues from the School of Finance at the Higher School of Economics in Moscow. Key topics include human capital and sustainable development, strategic finance, professional communication, marketing, public sector challenges, among others. Additionally, roundtable discussions with practitioners will be part of the program.

In 2024, GSOM SPbU will introduce several innovations to the EMC program. For the first time, a Russian Management Journal School for potential authors will be conducted. Conference attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in VR training developed by the Digital Technologies in Education Centre at GSOM SPbU, attend a masterclass by the Centre for Teaching Excellence, and tour the state-of-the-art GSOM SPbU campus known as Mikhailovskaya Dacha.
