September 13-14, 2024. Yury Blagov, Director of the Center for CSR at GSOM SPbU, took part in the fourth Sustainable Development summit "Siberian Perspective" as an invited expert. The event was organized by PJSC MMC “Norilsk Nickel”.
The summit, traditionally held in Krasnoyarsk, became one of the key events of the year dedicated to urban ecology management and the prospects for sustainable development of Russian cities with an emphasis on Siberia. Particular attention at the summit was paid to the problems of developing corporate volunteering and its contribution to the greening of the environment.
Addressing corporate volunteers representing 16 leading Russian companies, Yury Blagov emphasized that corporate volunteering in recent years has not only become a kind of "corporate fashion" but has also given rise to a complex and multi-purpose management function that requires special competencies. At the same time, we must not forget about the “human face” of corporate volunteering, which can bring genuine joy to the employees involved in it from participating in good deeds that are systematically supported by their companies.
Corporate volunteering is one of the areas of activity of the Center for Corporate Social Responsibility of GSOM SPbU. In 2024, Yury Blagov, with the support of the National Council for Corporate Volunteering, developed an online course "Corporate Volunteering".
This semester, this course is offered as an elective to 3rd-year students of bachelor's programs. In addition to watching a series of video lectures, students will take part in the preparation of group projects together with managers of leading Russian companies.
