Research Seminar of Graduate School of Management SPbU took place on April 5, 2016.

 

Nikolay Zubanov, Ph.D., Professor, Goethe University Frankfurt gave a presentation “The Effect of Announced Downsizing on Workplace Performance: Evidence from a Retail Chain”.

 

Presentation was dedicated to Nikolay Zubanov and his colleagues’ research of the effect of downsizing announcement on workplace performance using data from a German bakery chain of 193 shops.

 

Authors studied the effect on the company performance of various factors, the share of workers with a permanent contract and with temporary, the upcoming sale or closing of the shop. Also authors investigated the relationship of efficiency of the enterprise and psychological contract with its employees.

 

SPbU professors and doctoral students took part in the Seminar. It provided a room for lively scientific discussion.
