On April 23, 2016 Kelly Services CIS  hold a masterclass on topic “Competence interview and the secrets of its success” for GSOM SPbU students

 

During the masterclass which was held at the GSOM SPbU “Mikhaylovskaya Dacha” campus, the students got a unique opportunity to get ready for an internship or a job interview.

 

 

Speaker of the event was senior HR specialist of Kelly Services CIS Anna Kalacheva. After the master-class Anna shared her opinion:

 

“I saw students had a real interest in the topic. They were active and asked right questions. We communicate a lot with universities where we hold similar masterclasses. It’s not always that we see such a lively interest from the audience .It makes me very pleased”.

 

 

 

 

Among others Anna highlighted the following issues:

• How to define significant for the position competences
• How to identify these competences in behaviour
• What STAR means and how to apply it
• What PARLA means and how to apply it
• “Favorite” HR question

 

The topic of the masterclass aroused a lively discussion among the students, when the students got a chance to ask many questions. Here is the feedback of the 2-year student of Financial management Ernest Glukhov: “The masterclass for me appeared to be a great opportunity to talk to a representative of a real recruitment agency. We asked questions about how to avoid interview tricks and how to get ready for an interview. What we do have to do and what we don’t. Moreover I could understand several issues concerning my current studying – what I should pay attention to and where to be more responsible so that I am ready for the future interviews. Some information disclosed is appropriate for every situation but some – only for specific cases”.
