On April 9, 2024, representatives of GSOM St. Petersburg State University — associate professors Yury Blagov and Dmitry Kucherov presented their reports at the section “Theoretical problems of strategic planning” of the XXV All-Russian symposium “Strategic planning and development of enterprises”, held at the Central Economics and Mathematics Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (CEMI RAS ).
Yury Blagov's report on the topic “Corporate philanthropy of Russian companies: a strategic aspect” was devoted to the problem of the unity of business and moral components in the strategy of an enterprise. Based on the tradition of Adam Smith, who considered economic and moral motivation as elements of a single system in his works “The Theory of Moral Sentiments” and “An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations,” the author of the report examined two interrelated aspects. Firstly, the development and implementation of a formalized strategy for corporate philanthropy, as such, and, secondly, the development of “strategic” corporate philanthropy that creates value for society and business within the framework of a single goal setting. Yury Blagov's report was recognized as the best report of the section.
Dmitry Kucherov made a presentation on the topic “Socially responsible human resource management as a new approach to personnel management in the context of corporate sustainability.” According to the speaker, socially responsible human resource management pursues the achievement of social and economic goals and is designed to instill socially responsible behavior among the organization's employees. The focus of the presented research was on management tools, models of work behavior and the final indicators of the results achieved through the use of socially responsible human resource management.
