In 2024, SPbU will launch a double degree programme with Fudan University (China) as part of its strategic goal to develop international cooperation.
The project involves master's programmes of the Graduate School of Management of SPbU: ‘Management’ (Master in Management - MiM) and ‘Corporate Finance’ (Master in Corporate Finance - MCF).
First year students study in St. Petersburg, then take entrance examinations at Fudan University and continue their education in Shanghai on English-language Master in International Business and Master in Finance programmes. As a result, students receive two diplomas: a Master's degree from St. Petersburg State University and a Master's degree from Fudan University.
As part of the project, GSOM SPbU students have access to a number of scholarship programmes that allow them to cover part or all of their tuition and living expenses in China. The main criterion for selecting successful candidates is the students' academic performance.
Fudan University was founded in 1905 and is one of the most prestigious and oldest universities in China, consistently ranked among the top 100 best universities in the world. The University comprises 17 institutes and 69 faculties located in the centre of Shanghai. |
‘For the first time in a long time GSOM SPbU is launching a “double degree” within the framework of its two master's programmes at once. This demonstrates the high demand for the Business School's educational expertise in finance and management, including for foreign universities,’ — said Olga Dergunova, Deputy President and Chairman of the Management Board of VTB Bank and Director of GSOM SPbU. — The training will be conducted according to the highest international standards and will enable our graduates to master modern management tools for a successful career in Russian and foreign companies related to the Asian economy, as well as to gain comprehensive knowledge of economics, finance and the peculiarities of international business’.
The agreement on the double degree programme between SPbU and Fudan University (China) was signed in March 2024. St. Petersburg University maintains a long-standing academic co-operation with universities of the People's Republic of China. The subject of Chinese studies is actively supported by students of GSOM SPbU: for example, the ‘China Business Culture’ forum is held at the Mikhailovskaya Dacha campus for the second year already.
The School of Economics at Fudan University consists of five faculties: Economics, World Economics, International Finance, Public Economics and Insurance, as well as three major research centres: the Institute of World Economics, the China Centre for Economic Research and the Institute of Financial Research. The Department of Economics at Fudan University is recognised as one of the leading institutions for economic education and research in China. |
