On May 23, 2024, Yury Blagov, Director of the CSR Center at GSOM SPbU, took part in the plenary session of the XX International Scientific and Practical Conference “Corporate Social Responsibility and Business Ethics” as an invited speaker. The anniversary conference was traditionally organized by the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation.

Yury Blagov presented a scientific report on the topic “ESG: transformation of interpretations.” In this report, he substantiated the incorrectness of attempts to interpret the ESG acronym as an independent scientific concept. According to Yury Blagov, taking into account ESG factors leads to a meaningful transformation of existing concepts, such as the concept of responsible investment or the concept of risk management. The so-called “ESG concept” essentially reproduces at a new level the interpretation of corporate social responsibility as an “umbrella” concept of business interaction. society and nature.
