Charity without logo: trends and perspectives of corporate volunteering were discussed at GSOM SPbU

On April 18, 2017, the second St. Petersburg conference devoted to the "Corporate Volunteering" issue was held at GSOM SPbU. The event represents a professional platform for discussion of this subject in the North-West Federal District. The organizers of the conference are the Association of Managers and the National Council for Corporate Volunteering. 



The purpose of the conference was to analyze the experience of corporate volunteering in the North-West Federal District, discuss possible ways of developing and strengthening the intersectoral partnership "business - society - government" within the framework of corporate programs and state youth policy.


Within the framework of the panel discussion "The Urgency of the Environmental Corporate Partnership" timed to the year of ecology in Russia, the reports were presented Yury Blagov, Director of the PwC Center for Corporate Social Responsibility, GSOM SPbU; Elena Vishnyakova, Director of Public Relations, En + Group; Elena Kryuchkova, chief manager of the Norilsk Nickel Charitable Programs Department; Ekaterina Kuznetsova, the manager on interaction with public organizations and corporate Philip Morris Sales and Marketing; Nadezhda Lobacheva, Head of Corporate Communications, Wrigley Russia. Representatives of companies talked about the need to unite and share experience and developments in the field of CSR.





In the afternoon, two working sessions were held: "The first steps" in corporate volunteering - how to launch a corporate volunteer program in the company and where to start?” and “how does the corporate partnership change the urban environment?” Tatyana Gomzyakova, chairperson of Association Volunteer centers; Director of the department for work with volunteers, the Organizing Committee "Russia - 2018" and Yury Blagov, Director of the PwC Center for Corporate Social Responsibility, GSOM SPbU, became moderators of the working sessions.

The participants discussed successful technologies in corporate volunteering, ways of involving employees, monitoring and evaluation of ongoing programs, told about the projects being implemented on illustrative examples. Thus, the representatives of the company Leroy Merlin Elena Shipacheva, PR manager, and Maria Delendra, HR Director, spoke about the experience of Leroy Merlin's interaction with the project for difficult teenagers "Uppsala Circus". Elena Levina, Leading specialist in internal communications of the managing company of Pulkovo Airport, presented the company's charitable projects. On behalf of the student community of GSOM SPbU, the third year of the bachelor's degree student and Head of the charity organization of GSOM SPbU "Charity Club", presented the report.

"The conference brought together CSR specialists and corporate volunteers in particular, which created an excellent platform for sharing experience. Practice in this area is only being formed; therefore close communication of representatives of different fields of action is most important.

I was glad to represent students and tell about our expectations: there is often no possibility of such a direct dialogue with business community. And, of course, I have enriched my knowledge with useful cases".
