Elena Zavyalova, Professor, Head of the Department of Organizational Behavior and Personnel Management at GSOM SPbU, took part in the scientific and practical section "Management Technologies and Practices for Developing the Organization's Human Capital" at the IV St. Petersburg International Labor Forum.
The section was devoted on issues of personnel management and human capital development of the organization. Experts discussed the problems of corporate training in the era of digitalization, talent development management, the correlation of the interests of scientific and practical management, as well as the peculiarities of managing employees of different generations, including in Agile companies.
Professors presented the results of a study of the level of implementation of digitalization in the processes of human capital management in medium and large companies. Researchers analyzed about 500 companies from 15 different fields of activity: financial-investment, manufacturing, services, trade and others.
The study showed that the HR departments activities are more focused on the interests of the company and customers, and only secondarily on the interests of personnel and the formation of human capital. In addition, the professor noted that the most “digitized” among all HR practice is the administrative workflow, the second is training and development, and the third is competence, search and selection. More than 80% of the companies studied use the traditional form of full-time employment. To accelerate the process of transformation of HR units, it is necessary to increase the level of employee engagement.
