Experts from the Center for Entrepreneurship of the Graduate School of Management of St. Petersburg State University (GSOM SPbU) together with representatives of leading universities creation of an environment for the development of student entrepreneurship and interaction with corporations at the session "The ecosystem of universities in the architecture of the innovation ecosystem of St. Petersburg". The session was organized by the Center for Strategic Research "North-West".
St. Petersburg's Goverment is interested in the development of innovations as a driver for small and medium-sized businesses — important players in the city's economy. Corporations want to see structured work of universities with student projects so that the process becomes systemic and transparent — from idea to product launch. The task of universities is to form a startup culture among students, to develop the competencies necessary for an entrepreneur for an alternative career path outside the corporation.
“The Center for Entrepreneurship of the Business School plans to create a startup studio that brings together mentors from among entrepreneurs, alumni and students with entrepreneurial intentions and ideas for their own business projects. GSOM has a powerful resource — a close-knit community of GSOM Family alumni working in different countries and industries. The practice of mentoring has long been used in the Business School and is quite successful. We hope that graduates will help students develop business projects. Thanks to their experience, the path of transformation from idea to product sale will be shorter and more efficient,” said Karina Bogatyreva, director of the Center for Entrepreneurship.
The session was attended by representatives of ITMO, Polytech, Technological University, NRU HSE - St. Petersburg and the City Administration.
