Professor of the Aalto University School of Business in Helsinki Carl Fey held a seminar on writing and publishing academic articles in the world's leading journals in the field of economics and management for doctoral students of the Graduate School of Management of St. Petersburg State University (GSOM SPbSU).

Professor Carl Fey is Deputy Editor of Management and Organization Review and author of articles published in the Journal of International Business Studies, Strategic Management Journal, and Organization Science. He shed light on how to succeed with papers’ submission, what is behind rejection or acceptance decisions done by journals, and how to provide valuable theoretical contribution in a paper. During the seminar GSOM SPbU doctoral students discussed the advantages of both quantitative and qualitative research methods. Special attention was paid to writing the introduction, since being the most important part of a paper, it determines the quality, relevance and the potential of the research.  Doctoral students worked with their own articles, received useful comments on their papers from both Professor Fey and colleagues.

The seminar was organized on the initiative of Academic Director of GSOM Doctoral program of GSOM SPbU, Professor Marina Latukha.
