Svetlana Matveeva, Vice President for Personnel Management of AFK Sistema, spoke about the Management Essentials: School of Practical Management program, implemented jointly with the Graduate School of Management of St. Petersburg State University (GSOM SPbU) at the HR forum of Vedomosti.
The main goals of the Management Essentials program are to shorten the adaptation period for newly-started managers, systematize the management experience and create a stable base for development.
The speaker noted that the theoretical module of the program was completed by 100% of the students of the program, which is an indicator of a high-quality starting selection. The vast majority of the company's employees are completely satisfied with the delivered content. The training includes webinars, project work in teams, case study from company practice under the mentorship of GSOM SPbU faculty and business experts.
The selection for the program consisted of two stages. Participants had to fill out a questionnaire, tell about their experience, undergo express testing, video interviews and provide a motivation letter. As a result of the competition, out of 950 applications sent to the Sistema Group, 50 employees were selected for participation in the program — 60% men, 40% women. The average age is 35.
The Management Essentials: School of Practical Management program became part of the Lift to the Future project, the flagship educational initiative of the Sistema Charitable Foundation, the operator of social investments of the Sistema JSFC Group. The program consists of seven training modules, upon completion of which the participants passed the exam and defended their project. Based on the results of their training, the course participants receive certificates from GSOM SPbU for advanced training.
