The 7th International Conference "Emerging Markets 2020" has started at the Graduate School of Management of St. Petersburg State University (GSOM SPbU). For ten days, 170 speakers from 24 countries will discuss the state of the economy, management and business before and after the pandemic in an online format.
The first event of the conference was a Doctoral Colloquium, in which Doctoral students from Russian and international universities and business schools took part. For two days on November 9-10, the workshop participants discussed their research projects. Their research interests included women's leadership, investment in emerging markets, consumer behavior, attracting talent, and much more. Representatives of the editorial staff of leading business and management journals told young researchers about new methods of empirical research and requirements for scientific publication. Guest lectures were delivered by Ajai Gaur, Professor of Strategic Management and International Business, Rutgers Business School, USA, Alex Settles, Clinical Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship and International Business, Department of Management, Warrington College of Business, University of Florida, USA, Emmanuella Plakoyiannaki, Professor, Chair of International Business at the Faculty of Business, Economics and Statistics at the University of Vienna, Austria.
On November 11 the track "Business in Society: a changing paradigm and a new reality" took place. In the context of emerging markets, experts discussed how the new forms of corporate social responsibility correspond to modern challenges.
On November 12, several tracks started simultaneously "Public Sector Issues", "Marketing during & after COVID-19", "Human Capital, Talents and Diversity", "AI and Big Data in Management".
The 7th International Conference Emerging Markets 2020 will last until November 18 at the ZOOM platform. The conference is organized in partnership with The Academy of Business in Society (ABIS), a network of over 100 companies and academic institutions whose expertise and resources are used to invest in sustainable business development in society; Caux Round Table, an international organization of business leaders with a value-based approach to global capitalism; GEM&L, an international group of researchers focusing on language and communication in the business environment.
