Annual Spring Career Day for management students was held

On April 23 at Saint Petersburg State University annual Spring Career Day for management students was held. The event took place at the SPbU campus “Mikhaylovskaya Dacha” located at the address: 109, Sankt-Peterburgskoye shosse.


The following SPbU corporate partners and GSOM SPbU Advisory Board members took part in the event - L’Oréal, PwC, P&G, VTB, Russian Railways, Gazprom neft, Gazprombank, Gazprom dobycha Astrakhan, BFA Bank, IBM, Sberbank, Coca-Cola Hellenic, Deloitte, British American Tobacco, Alt, Strategy Partners Group, JTI, Pulkovo, Baltika Breweries, EY, METRO Cash & Carry, Ilim Group, SUN InBev, SPN Communications, MARS.


This Spring Career Day was attended by around 320 students and graduates of GSOM SPbU bachelor and master programs as well as students of other SPbU faculties and other universities of Saint Petersburg.


Traditionally Spring Career Day was started with a series of interactive events held by 8 companies: L'Oreal, SPN Communications, PwC, Ilim Group, VTB, Pulkovo, Coca-Cola, SUN InBev.


During L’Oreal and SPN Communications’ master-classes the students deepened their marketing knowledge and learned everything about selective brands and about insights in marketing.


Pulkovo, VTB and Ilim Group organized for the students business games where students learned a lot about headhunting and got a chance to feel as a CEO.


SUN InBev taught the students how to find and disarm a manipulator, PwC spoke with the students about a seaport infrastructure and project financing. Also the students got to know how Coca-Cola manages young graduates and what programs are there inside the company to help you grow.


According to the companies’ feedback the students were active, asked many high-quality questions and were interested in the topics of the interactive events.


Career Fair was held in the central hall of the campus. During career fair the students and graduates received the information about career opportunities inside the companies, talked informally with business representatives. Some of the companies also gave the students small presents and souvenirs during the career fair communication. 


Volunteer students effectively helped in organizing the event. They received valuable experience in event management. This year among the volunteer students one could see: 2-year bachelor students Sofya Aksenova and Yaroslav Kryuchkov, 3-year students Anna Averina, Saniya Abdullaeva, Anna Lozhkina and Taras Kasymov, 4-year students Elmira Gardashova, Rita Ganieva and Valeria Zhizhikova.


In the end of the event traditional quiz-game took place in the central hall. The students who managed to give the right answers for the difficult business questions got memorable prizes.


Spring Career Day was attended by the companies from different areas of business. Topics of the interactive events were up-to-date. Prizes, memorable and useful souvenirs, books as well as sweets and soft drinks provided by the partner companies added a pleasant component to the knowledge gained and to the contacts established.
