Research centers

All Centers have three priority interrelated areas of activity: conducting world-class research on topical issues of management theory and practice; assistance in improving the quality of teaching at GSOM SPbU of specialized training courses on all GSOM programs; development and implementation of innovative training programs for managers and entrepreneurs. Young researchers, Doctoral and Master students of GSOM SPbU participate in the Centers' projects, which is important for ensuring both a high academic level and the practical significance of their theses.

All Centers carry out their projects on the principle of co-financing and actively attract external financial resources from Russian and foreign funds and companies. The most important criteria for the success of the Centers are the publication of research results in A level peer reviewed international and Russian academic journals and other publications and the implementation of research and educational projects for leading companies in the country and the world.

About Research Centers

There are five research centers in the GSOM SPbU (Center for Entrepreneurship; Center for Public Private Partnership Studies; Center for Corporate Social Responsibility; Center of the Graduate School of Management; Center for Russian Multinationals and Global Business). These Centers are designed to contribute to the formation and development of the competencies of GSOM SPbU in their profiles, bearing in mind the leadership in Russia and in the world in the relevant areas.

Young scientists, postgraduates, and undergraduates of GSOM SPbU participate in the work of the Centers, which is important for ensuring both a high academic level and the practical significance of their dissertations.

Center for Entrepreneurship

The Center is created as a separate unit within the Graduate School of Management. It is aiming to unite and concentrate GSOM faculty, alumni, post-graduates and undergraduate students’ efforts on Entrepreneurship as one of the key research areas. The main goals of the Center activity are developing and dissemination of knowledge on Entrepreneurship.

Center for Public Private Partnership Studies

The major goal of the Center is to develop and disseminate knowledge about the implementation and efficient management of PPP projects, as well as to provide a platform for interaction among public officials, business community and academics in the process of the implementation of PPP projects by integrating the competences of academics and professional experts.

Center for Corporate Social Responsibility

The Center’s goal is to support GSOM SPbU mission — to educate and advance the national managerial elite strongly committed to the idea of implementing the principles of social responsibility for impactful societal and economic change.

Center for Strategic Marketing and Innovations

The objective of the Center is creation of competences in studying marketing and innovation theories and methodologies using advanced experience of Russian companies in the comparative studies and spreading new knowledge among Russian academics and the businesses.

Center for Russian Multinationals and Global Business

The Center for Russian Multinationals and Global Business (CRMGB) aims at developing and disseminating knowledge in the area of international business (IB), with a particular attention to Russian multinational enterprises (MNEs) and emerging markets.

Center of Market Efficiency and Applied Finance Research

Objectives of the Center:
Conducting academic research at an international level
Conducting applied research in key areas of the Center’s work
Implementation of consulting projects and educational programs (development of disciplines Deep Learning and Models with optimizations, Modern Econometric Models in Finance, etc.), including in the field of additional professional education
Development of GSOM’s academic potential in the field of finance: attracting graduate students and young scientists, defending Ph.D. theses by graduate students involved in the Center’s projects
