The “School of social entrepreneurship” series of research & practice seminars was held at GSOM SPbU from April 29 to May 2, 2018. The event was attended by 42 bachelor and master students of management, economics, sociology and journalism from SPbU, Siberian Federal University and Ural Federal University.
The series of seminars conducted in a “summer school” format was based on long term experience of the PwC Center for Corporate Social Responsibility at GSOM SPbU in research and teaching including comparative studies in the ICSEM (International Cooperative Social Enterprise Models) project of the EMES research network, and the “Project development for social entrepreneurs” educational program.
The seminars included interactive sessions in topical issues: social problems solution, social entrepreneurship typology, stakeholder management, business models, social impact assessment, and marketing in social entrepreneurship. Every session contained both conceptual presentation and real cases presented by social entrepreneurs and representatives of the organizations providing support to this particular kind of small business.
The “academic” stream of the seminars was presented by Y.E. Blagov, Y.N. Aray, D.I. Barkan, A.A. Petrova-Savchenko, and A.S. Ruchieva (all from GSOM SPbU) together with Founding President of EMES professor Jascques Defourny. The “practical” part was introduced by M.A. Krivonos (Charity Foundation RAOUL), M.M. Bondar (Travel company for disabled Liberty), D.S. Buyanova (Charity Foundation Kind City of St. Petersburg), Z.A. Boytsova and A.A. Malabiu (ANO I hear you), E.G. Schirov (Bakery Tabor), and S.N. Neshina (Magnifique dance studio). Also the “practical” stream was supported by E.V. Telitsina (Reach for Change foundation), A.Y. Moskvina (CRNO), I.A. Vishnevskaya (Social entrepreneurs’ association of St.Petersburg and Leningrad Region), and A.S. Demidenko (Russian Microfinance Center).
