From 17 to 20 June, a seminar for representatives of international departments of partner universities was held at GSOM SPbU. This year participants discussed the development of international mobility, summer schools and joint programs. Elena Orlova, Head of Languages for Academic and Business Communication Department, took part in this event and told colleagues about working with demanding international students

From June 14 to 15, CEMS White Nights conference was held at GSOM SPbU. This is an annual meeting of CEMS programs students and graduates from around the world. This year participants discussed innovation, corporate transformation and diversity. The meeting was attended by representatives of Microsoft, Hilti, VKontakte, L’Oréal, Google, BCG, Mars and Wrike. The event ended with the boat-trip by the Neva river.

On June 13, GSOM SPbU new Director Olga Dergunova held a meeting with faculty and staff. “Any new person with new ideas, first of all, shouldn’t harm the positive inertia, which moves the development of the organization, as well as understand what the next step will be formulated by the people with whom you go further,” said Olga Dergunova

On June 6, during the Advisory Board meeting it was announced that Deputy President and Chairman of VTB Bank Olga Dergunova was appointed as GSOM SPbU Director general. She replaced on this position President and Chairman of the Bank Andrey Kostin who led the School since 2012.

Its specialists will help students to determine a predisposition to a particular type of activity. This is necessary for a conscious attitude towards learning and career building

On April 19, the head of Rostelecom Mikhail Oseevsky delivered a lecture at GSOM SPbU on how the company is trying to see the future in order to maintain and develop its competitiveness

On April 18-19 Severstal & GSOM SPbU Bootcamp was organized. Students, staff, alumni and Sevestal employees worked in teams solving business problems and taking part in design thinking workshops. At the end of the second day eight teams presented the results and jury that was formed by Severstal representatives choose the best solutions. The winners got a fast track for Severstal leadership program and certificates for mentor meetings with company executives

On April 18-19, at “Mikhailovskaya Dacha” campus Severstal & GSOM SPbU bootcamp will be held. Bootcamp is a collaboration between one of the largest metallurgical companies Severstal and GSOM SPbU within the framework of the transformation of management and educational practices. Participants will be able to work on solving business problems of Severstal in teams with the employees. Within two days, design thinking workshops and practical solutions development sessions will be organized for them. Basing on the results of the work, the organizers will select three best projects.

On December 6, GSOM SPbU graduate and Talent Up! mentor Ekaterina Startseva  gave a lecture on topic “Digital marketing: native communications for big brands, or how to make a video for a million views.” Ekaterina told students about Russian advertising market, showed the most popular commercials of the year and explained what to study to be able to work in digital marketing

On November 16, one of WatchMojo founders Ashkan Karbasfrooshan told students how to run YouTube channel.
