It is impossible to imagine a successful business today without highly qualified managers who are able to make decisions and organize the business processes given the large number of variables. Such professionals are trained in the master's programs of the Graduate School of Management, St. Petersburg University.
The school offers 4 main programs: "Management", "Corporate Finance", "Smart city management", "Business Analytics and Big Data". Each of the program not only trains specialists in the chosen field, but also develops leadership and managerial skills, teaches students to work in a team and develop projects together for the largest Russian and foreign companies.
Applicants with different educational background and work experience come to get a master’s degree at GSOM SPbU. Among students, in addition to graduates with economic background, there are those who radically change their major. Students here are recent graduates of mathematical, humanities or technical faculties, as well as already working specialists who lack managerial and business skills.
Results-based education
The GSOM SPBU master's program, first of all, teaches to put the knowledge into practice. That is why the program involves a consulting project. Working with it, students learn not only to analyze specific problems, but also to develop a structured plan for solving them. Moreover, students learn to present and defend their ideas to teachers and business representatives who participate in the development of the curriculum, conduct trainings and take part in the commissions for master thesis defense.
Internationalization
Three master's programs are provided entirely in English: from lectures and group projects to writing and defending master thesis. More than 20 foreign lecturers work at GSOM SPbU, and each semester about 100 students come from foreign universities on exchange. Communicating in such an international environment and joint problem solving allows you to develop intercultural communication skills and learn to work and communicate in English.

All GSOM SPBU Master Programs involve an exchange semester at one of GSOM international partner schools.
Internships in well-known companies
At the end of the second semester of study, GSOM students take part in internships at one of more than 200 partner companies. Among them are the largest Russian and international corporations (L’Oreal, IBM, PepsiCo and others), as well as leading consulting companies (McKinsey, EY, A.T. Kearney) and banks (Sberbank, VTB, Citi, Raiffeisenbank). Employees of the Career Center help in searching for internships by collecting information about available vacancies and selecting options in accordance with the interests and areas of research of students.
Students and alumni support
A special feature of GSOM SPBU is the support of students and graduates from the School. The Career Center helps to build a career, the mentorship program Talent Up! — to make new acquaintances and get experience useful for personal and professional development. Lectures and trainings on self-development are regularly held, as well as professional events organized with the active support of corporate partners.
Moreover, GSOM SPBU graduates are part of the GSOM Family community of professionals, united by common values and knowledge, working in a variety of fields and organizations in Russia and abroad. This opens up wide opportunities for self-realization of GSOM SPBU graduates.
